Babiy Yar and St. Cyril's Church

Babiy Yar is the place listed to the world's Holocaust memorials, the most tragic in Kyiv, as a kind of reminder of the anti-human crimes of the Nazis. Babiy Yar is a large ravine, where there were mass executions (for 2 days killed about 35 thousand people, and a total of about 100 thousand persons). On the territory of the ravine is monument to shot Soviet citizens and prisoners of war, a monument to murdered Jews - Menorah, the monument to shot children, a monument to the victims of the Kurenyovska tragedy.

St. Cyril's Church, which was founded in the 12th century at the time - on the outskirts of Kyiv. In 1194 there was buried Kyiv’s Prince Svyatoslav - the hero of the ancient Russian poem «The Lay of Igor's Campaign». Due to its wall paintings, the church declared the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
