Lviv City Hall - is a silent witness to all the historical city events. In the Middle Ages it was right near the post punishment, which executed these «traitors of the motherland», as the leader of the peasant revolt of the Cossack Ivan Horseshoe and Moldovan ruler Tomšů.
During the revolutionary events in 1848 in Lviv, the Austrian artillery bombarded the very center of town; it's fairly decently damaging and Hall, whereby the initial tower completely collapsed. The building was renovated in 1851 - part of the dome was replaced by toothed bayonets, as the towers of the Middle Ages, and in 1852 on top of the tower were installed new watch. Since 1939 the Town Hall took Lviv city council. And in 1948, above the main entrance to the Lviv City Hall was a sculptural group that to this day, unfortunately, has not been preserved, and at the entrance - figures of lions and shields with the arms of the city.
